A total of 25 HSE and emergency preparedness managers and advisors from 16 operating companies came together at ResQ’s premises at Forus outside Stavanger Thursday 5 February for ResQ’s first risk and crisis management seminar.
Speakers were EHS advisor for emergency preparedness Bjørn Ross from Tullow Oil Norway, who spoke about best practices in emergency preparedness and the Incident Command System (ICS), followed by discipline leader for Svein Anders Eriksson from the Norwegian Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA) who gave an introduction into challenges and observations regarding emergency preparedness for the oil and gas industry in the northern regions of the Norwegian Continental Shelf.
“ResQ has ambitions to stay ahead academically and by addressing relevant topics in close dialogue with our customers. This event initiated interesting discussions and set relevant issues on the agenda”, says ResQ CEO Njål Arne Vathne.
ResQ received positive feedback from the participants on this initiative to a professional seminar.
“It was especially gratifying that both the PSA and ConocoPhillips in plenary gave ResQ very good feedback on our conducted safety training courses. Recaps after the event show that there is a need to meet our customers in this type of an academic forums, Mr Vathne says.

Challenges and observations from emergency preparedness in the High North was the topic of the lecture by PSA discipline leader for logistics, emergency response and security Svein Anders Eriksson.
